Hello my name is Alvaro I have 22 years .

You know that phrase that says the grass is greener in the neighbor's yard?,
here it is literally true, there are many green areas scattered Cologne.

Im in Pathpoint located 2-3 minutes walk from Dom. This very well located, the receptionists are very nice people, the cleaning service is very good, there are kitchen and rest as hammocks, a pool ..., free drinking water (its free!), but ... there is always a but, no lift and we are on the third floor.

My teammates are Mario, Tomas and Curro, before coming here I had not talked much with them but here we are well aware, are very good people and we all work together in the kitchen or whatever it takes.

My company is called Kreisverwaltung des rhein-kreis is in Bergheim, a kind of council is very similar to the Junta de Andalucia, im working in the IT department and my job is to write scripts, php and care that leave a tikets workers own the company in an application, can be anything from computer repair to fix a printer, a RAM upgrade for example.

The weather is unpredictable, but still a very pleasant time, not too cold or too hot.

The city of Cologne in general is very nice, the Germans are very nice people and always helps you if you ask for help, the English language is essential here to understand you, most Germans can speak English very well.

Bergheim is a small city that is twenty-five minutes by train from central station in Cologne, the most characteristic monument is Aachener Tor.

The first thing I visited was the cathedral of Cologne, at an altitude of 170 meters on the outside is impressive, the inside is precious reliquary said to contain the three wise men. Curro and I climbed the tower of the cathedral, took a while to get on the end but the views are worth it.

The next thing I did was go to Amsterdam, we rented a van and drove up there, we enjoyed the day of the queen who is a huge party with boats crossing the canals, where the vehicle is the predominant bicycle there are lots. We toured most of the center of Amsterdam on foot.

The good and the bad that has our room is that we are four, but there are six beds in the room so they put two people in the room that have nothing to do with us, but that's what you can meet people from other places for example, you may be speaking English with a German journalist who is a German magazine and an Indian who is a reporter for a magazine India that the next day will cover a global excibicion.

Thanks to that we met Geremy, a professor at the language school, came with us to bridge the locks, also went to a market near the bridge. He told us he was going to a game convention, and decided to go see it, i was very curious, there were people dressed up and a medieval fair, among other things.

Language classes (German) have been short but intense, I would have liked to have been more time and learn more language; the teacher organized a boat trip on the Rhine and we take a nice afternoon.

I also had the fortune to go to Berlin with all partners, was an amazing trip, we had the good fortune to meet Federico, a receptionist at the residence who is from Argentina and also made tours, the tour we did with Federico was very good, we visited the most important places in the history of Berlin, would return without hesitation to go to Berlin again.

We have also gone to the zoo and botanical garden, the park's botanical garden is great for a walk, the zoo is not special but we found a good ride.

Cultural visit, we stayed in the King Tutankamon museum, museum of Colonia, chocolat museum, Gestapo museum and museum of perfum. All I have liked, you see the history from Colonia and its amazing , have a nice culture, you see too the horrible consecuences of the war.

The last trip we went to the city of Bonn, visited part of the city, including a church, monuments, bridge and the house of Beethoven.

It's a life experience that can hardly be repeated, I recommend it 100%.
